FedEx Facility

The FedEx facility is pretty much finished.  The structure is the Express Parcel Transfer kit from Trains by Randy Brown.  It is a fairly simple kit to put together.  There are options you can take in constructing this kit to suit your needs such as leaving bay doors off or partially open and attaching the office area to side or middle of the one solid wall.

I chose to paint the building a granite gray with black trim and the bay doors white.  I purchased a couple of FedEx 28′ trailers by MCZ Models from Z Scale Monster Trains.  I also found 4 FedEx step vans on eBay that are Shapeways models and came complete with some decals.  I painted the wheels and undercarriage of the step vans black and then added the decals.

This structure and the vehicles will be situated on one of the corner modules.

I have been involved with model railroading for a long time (not as long as some). I have had different layouts (HO and N scale) over the years, mostly what some would call traditional layouts ranging from hollow core doors to starting on an around the room project. We moved and down sized and that plan was scrapped. I have always been fascinated with Z scale and finally took the plunge and started a T-TRAK-Z club (albeit I am the only member for now) and beginning a T-TRAK-Z layout.
